I really need to vent...

I was so furious today that I almost lost my cool. I was having a decent day. Sold some stuff for a fundraiser, Jared took a nice 3 hour nap, Chloe had a nice day at school. She listened when I told her to get ready for dance.
Dance class. Where toddlers aren't welcome even in the waiting room.
I've been a little put off by the owner of the studio lately, but tonight was the last straw. The first strike was a few half-funny comments about how spirited my son is.
The second was her asking me to take him outside when they are changing classes.
What the heck? Not a big deal in September, but what about later?

Tonight I kept him in the car with me. Luckily we have a vcr in the van. I had to write the tuition check, so I took him in at THE END of class. When my daughter came out, I had her watch my son while I went in to talk to the old bat.
I asked her how much I owed her, and she told me she had a class and turned away from me
.
I will NOT take my daughter back there. I am not going to pay this woman to be rude to me.
My daughter told me that the owner has been mean to some of the girls too. I had to explain to my 7 year old daughter that she may have to go a few months without dancing until I find somewhere else for her to go. Apparently I am not the first parent to feel this way lately...

What is this, summer vacation?

Boy, I've really been neglecting this blog. It's kinda why I've taken so long to create a blog. I knew I'd be bad at updating it. I started physical therapy last month, and it's amazing how wonderful it is. I thought that my back would hurt forever. Now that I am doing my exercises and making my appointments, it's great.

On a different note, I would like to have yesterday removed from existence. It was awful. I was supposed to go to PT at 5:30, so I started getting the kids ready. I found my wedding ring and anniversary ring on Chloe's floor. She must have taken them out of the bowl I put them in when bathing Bubba. The major problem is, my engagement ring was not with them, and I had to GO! So I loaded up the kiddos, start the van, and press the button for my seat to move up. NOTHING.
I can't reach the pedals! How the heck am I supposed to get to therapy if I can't reach the pedals? So I call hubby, and tell him to change my appointment for me.
OK, no big deal, I'll do some digital scrapping. So I'm sitting at the computer and hear a crash, and Bubba crying. So I RUN. Jared pulled the guinea pig's cage off of Chloe's dresser. He is covered in dirty shavings and piggy poop. Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
So I throw him in the tub, and wash him off. I guess the crash scared the little dog, because he peed in the kitchen. Then the phone is ringing, and I have a naked baby running around the house. I throw a diaper on him, then go into Chloe's room with a garbage bag. Luckily, hubby gets home to finish the job, and he helps Chloe find my ring (which was stuck in the wheel of a video tape.) So yes, I started drinking...

If you read this, you are a saint.

If you're here for the doodle freebie, that's cool. Hope you like it. http://www.sendspace.com/file/hsg11d

Growing Pains

Mommy has been swearing a lot lately.
Why?
Because she's been having back pains from carrying a big monkey.

Oh, and the 10 year old matress doesn't help.

I've been relegated to pain killers and heating pads. Yesterday I was starting to feel better, then I lifted Jared again. Stupid. I felt the pain immediately. But I've been making it a point to keep moving, because if I sit still too long, I get stiff. But Jared doesn't understand. He just wants Mommy to pick him up. So I've been letting him climb on me. He'll climb up when I'm sitting on the couch, and snuggle for 30 seconds, then he's off again. We're going to my sister-in-law's house tonight to get my camera that I left there, so I'm going to let her see if she can do anything for me. She's our doctor.

We were at her house last weekend for a party. She had baby Madeline baptized, and they also celebrated Devin's 3rd birthday. My heart stopped three times that day. While we were in the church, SIL was outside with Jared (the mother is not allowed in the church in the Russian Orthodox religion) and he choked on a cracker. Luckily, he coughed it up himself. The second time was when someone left the baby gate open at the top of SIL's steps, and Jared went down them. He rolled down the last few. Scared the crap out of him, but he was fine. I needed a drink at that point. Then, Bill was playing wiffleball with Chloe in their backyard. Chloe pitched, and Bill hit a line drive into Chloe's eye. She told us that her eye was blurry. SIL said we should go to the ER and have it checked out, just to be safe. Bill's parents took Jared with them and we went to Mercy's pediatric ER. We didn't wait too long, and the PA that saw Chloe was wonderful. She was thrilled because he let her call him Bill. He talked to her, not us. When we were done, the nurse gave Chloe a dog beanie baby. She took it to sunday school and then school the next day. I think I'll be seeing some gray hairs in a little bit.

2 Posts for Today - Aren't You Lucky?

It's that time of year again...
Time to plan Chloe's birthday. Aaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh.
She wanted to take her friends to Kennywood.
I. Don't. Think. So.

The other ideas we threw around were:
Krispy Kreme, Home with a Bounce House, Limo Ride,
Sleepover, Mini Golf... you get the idea.

Finally we decided to go with the Children's Museum.
I'm now waiting for hubby to call me with the arrangements.

She decided to invite her Brownie Troop, her best friend, and
her two cousins.

We will also celebrate her birthday (and mine) in June in Florida.
I can't wait. We're going to do a day at Disney, and have breakfast with Jojo and the Little Einsteins.

^This picture is Chloe with her guinea pig Isabel.

On a Daily Basis

At least once a day, we have a Jared Meltdown.

Today's made me laugh. He brought me a box of garbage bags that I bought last night. He wanted me to feed him. Nevermind that he just finished 2 bowls of cereal. When I took the box and put it under the sink, it started.

His face turned white, except for a few red spots, and he stopped breathing for a few seconds...

Then the screams started. Loud, ear-piercing screams.

Boom! He threw himself to the ground. He rolled over and kicked his legs. Then he saw his feet in front of his face. They made him mad. So...

He bit his own foot! Then he cried some more. That settled it. It was naptime. I look forward to the next fit. It shouldn't be long after he wakes up.

Easter's not over yet...

We got to dye eggs twice! Bill's family is Russian Orthodox, so we do Easter twice. This year, Orthodox Easter is tomorrow. I haven't done any Ukranian eggs yet this year (I have no idea why.)
But we did get a chance to dye some eggs at Baba's house on Friday. Of course, this scrapbook page is from last week. Chloe is learning how to use the kistka.

Of course, with four kids there, some mayhem ensued. Jared threw a tantrum when I held my 7 week old niece Maddie. It didn't bother him at all when Bill held her. There was also
a comic moment. My nephew Devin took a drink of his mom's pop, and said, "Aaaaaaaah." It made us laugh, and Chloe shook her head and said, "Kids..." I almost fell off of my chair laughing.

I added a picture here ---> of one of my eggs from last year. Hopefully I'll get to do some this year at some point.

Yesterday - Thank Goodness It's Over!

See that sweet little face? Not my hubby, but the little boy. He doesn't look like a little terror, does he?

That sweet little boy made yesterday the longest day I've had in the longest time.

It all started with breakfast. I was eating cereal, and I brought Jared a bowl of dry cereal. He didn't want his cereal, he wanted my cereal. When I didn't give him some of mine, his jaws clamped down on my two middle toes! I spilled my cereal prying my foot out of his mouth.

Then came naptime. He didn't want a nap. He screamed in his bed for close to an hour. I went in a few times to give him the binkies that he threw.

After his nap, it was juice time! Jared normally loves juice. But yesterday, he didn't want to be bothered with lifting up the freakin' cup! Well, how else does the juice come out? So he'd take a sip, then scream, then take a sip, then scream, then throw the cup.

Next tantrum occurred at dinnertime. I made matzah ball soup. Mmmmmmm. Again, he wanted mine, not the diced veggies he had. First thing, he bit me on the leg. When daddy took him away from me, he reached out and hit me. The kid clearly has food issues.

How a simple "Thank You" can turn ugly...

Last week I had a terrible thing happen. It started in the parking lot of the grocery store. I opened the door of the van to get Jared out of his carseat and I stopped dead in my tracks.
My baby is a big boy.
It took my breath away. Bill looked at me like I was nuts. Somehow I made it into the grocery store. So we were shopping along, and Jared sneezed.
I said, "God Bless You."
He said, "Thank You!"
Whaaaaaaaaaat???????????????????
When the heck did my baby talk? I mean, every once in a while I'd get a "mama" or "dada"
but never anything in any context.
So there I was on the verge of tears in the Easter candy aisle.

A Blog? What the heck for?

Well, so that I can share stuff with family, friends, and those that need a good dose of mommy stuff.

I'm Judy. I have a hubby Bill, and two kiddos. Chloe is 6 and knows EVERYTHING. Jared is 16 months old and is extremely edible. I nibble every chance I get.

This weekend has been very normal.

Saturday Soccer game for Chloe. They won 8-0. big deal for them. Jared went to the church Easter egg hunt. He found one egg. He carried it around the yard. What a cutie. We took Chloe to Krispy Kreme to get donuts for her grades. Then we went to my aunt's diner for a birthday party. Jared didn't have fun. He didn't like that we kept him from getting into trouble. Poor guy.

Today started with Sunday school for Chloe. Then we headed to church with Jared. After plopping him in the child care room, we had a nice service. The Sunday school kids sang with palms waving. Since Chloe missed the church egg hunt, we went to the local farm market for their egg hunt. She found over 130 eggs. Jared again, found one. They both got goodie bags, so hey...

Jared is now sleeping off a funnel-cake induced tantrum. I really should be getting dinner ready...
