Easter's not over yet...

We got to dye eggs twice! Bill's family is Russian Orthodox, so we do Easter twice. This year, Orthodox Easter is tomorrow. I haven't done any Ukranian eggs yet this year (I have no idea why.)
But we did get a chance to dye some eggs at Baba's house on Friday. Of course, this scrapbook page is from last week. Chloe is learning how to use the kistka.

Of course, with four kids there, some mayhem ensued. Jared threw a tantrum when I held my 7 week old niece Maddie. It didn't bother him at all when Bill held her. There was also
a comic moment. My nephew Devin took a drink of his mom's pop, and said, "Aaaaaaaah." It made us laugh, and Chloe shook her head and said, "Kids..." I almost fell off of my chair laughing.

I added a picture here ---> of one of my eggs from last year. Hopefully I'll get to do some this year at some point.

Yesterday - Thank Goodness It's Over!

See that sweet little face? Not my hubby, but the little boy. He doesn't look like a little terror, does he?

That sweet little boy made yesterday the longest day I've had in the longest time.

It all started with breakfast. I was eating cereal, and I brought Jared a bowl of dry cereal. He didn't want his cereal, he wanted my cereal. When I didn't give him some of mine, his jaws clamped down on my two middle toes! I spilled my cereal prying my foot out of his mouth.

Then came naptime. He didn't want a nap. He screamed in his bed for close to an hour. I went in a few times to give him the binkies that he threw.

After his nap, it was juice time! Jared normally loves juice. But yesterday, he didn't want to be bothered with lifting up the freakin' cup! Well, how else does the juice come out? So he'd take a sip, then scream, then take a sip, then scream, then throw the cup.

Next tantrum occurred at dinnertime. I made matzah ball soup. Mmmmmmm. Again, he wanted mine, not the diced veggies he had. First thing, he bit me on the leg. When daddy took him away from me, he reached out and hit me. The kid clearly has food issues.

How a simple "Thank You" can turn ugly...

Last week I had a terrible thing happen. It started in the parking lot of the grocery store. I opened the door of the van to get Jared out of his carseat and I stopped dead in my tracks.
My baby is a big boy.
It took my breath away. Bill looked at me like I was nuts. Somehow I made it into the grocery store. So we were shopping along, and Jared sneezed.
I said, "God Bless You."
He said, "Thank You!"
Whaaaaaaaaaat???????????????????
When the heck did my baby talk? I mean, every once in a while I'd get a "mama" or "dada"
but never anything in any context.
So there I was on the verge of tears in the Easter candy aisle.

A Blog? What the heck for?

Well, so that I can share stuff with family, friends, and those that need a good dose of mommy stuff.

I'm Judy. I have a hubby Bill, and two kiddos. Chloe is 6 and knows EVERYTHING. Jared is 16 months old and is extremely edible. I nibble every chance I get.

This weekend has been very normal.

Saturday Soccer game for Chloe. They won 8-0. big deal for them. Jared went to the church Easter egg hunt. He found one egg. He carried it around the yard. What a cutie. We took Chloe to Krispy Kreme to get donuts for her grades. Then we went to my aunt's diner for a birthday party. Jared didn't have fun. He didn't like that we kept him from getting into trouble. Poor guy.

Today started with Sunday school for Chloe. Then we headed to church with Jared. After plopping him in the child care room, we had a nice service. The Sunday school kids sang with palms waving. Since Chloe missed the church egg hunt, we went to the local farm market for their egg hunt. She found over 130 eggs. Jared again, found one. They both got goodie bags, so hey...

Jared is now sleeping off a funnel-cake induced tantrum. I really should be getting dinner ready...
